Ingredients
- 200g oats
- 70g mixed nuts, finely chopped
- 70g mixed seeds
- 70g melted butter
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 50g puffed quinoa
Method
- Preheat the oven to 160c and line two baking trays with parchment paper.
- Add the oats, chopped nuts and mixed seeds to a large bowl and mix.
- For children under 5 years the nuts and seeds both need to be chopped very small.
- Mix the melted butter, honey and vanilla together in a small bowl or jug and pour this on top of the oat mixture, mixing until everything is well combined.
- Divide the mixture between the two lined trays and bake in the oven for 15 minutes, stirring at least once to ensure the edges don't burn.
- Add the puffed quinoa to the trays, mixing well and return to the oven for another 5 minutes.
- Once cooked, allow the granola to cool on the trays to crisp up before transferring to an airtight container.
