Ingredients

  • 2 cups filtered water (16 oz)
  • ΒΌ cup whole roasted coffee beans (or 2 tablespoons coarsely ground)

Method

  1. Place the whole roasted coffee beans in a coffee grinder, and grind to a coarse grind (not fine grind as that can block the coffee filter and cause pressure in the French press).
  2. Bring the water to a boil, and let it sit for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the ground coffee to the fresh press, and pour the hot water over the coffee. Using a pastic spoon, give it a quick stir, and cover with the top but do not press the plunger down.
  4. Leave the coffee to brew for 4 minutes (if you like lighter coffee do a minute less, for stronger coffee do 5-6 minutes).
  5. Carefully press the plunger down, pour the coffee in coffee cups.
