Ingredients
- 1 12 or 16 roll package Hawaiin sweet rolls (do not slice)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cloves garlic (finely minced)
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (finely chopped)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch (23x33 cm) baking dish.
- Place the rolls in the dish and carefully slice through each row twice lengthwise and twice crosswise, creating deep cuts without slicing all the way through the bottom.
- Stuff shredded mozzarella cheese into the cuts, sprinkling any remaining cheese evenly over the top.
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and ground black pepper until smooth.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls, pressing it into the cuts as much as possible.
- Cover loosely with foil and bake for 12 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for 3 minutes, until the cheese is fully melted and the tops are lightly golden.
- Transfer to a serving platter and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
