Ingredients

  • 1 ยฝ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 ยฝ cups powdered milk
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ยฝ teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon cinnamon or a pinch of cayenne pepper for some heat

Method

  1. In a big bowl, mix together the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, powdered milk, and cornstarch. Make sure everything is well combined.
  2. If you're using optional ingredients like cinnamon or cayenne pepper, add them to the mix now and whisk until well combined.
  3. Continue mixing with a whisk. You want the mix to be really smooth.
  4. Take a tiny bit of the mix and taste it. If you think it needs more of something, like sugar or cocoa, add it in.
  5. Store your finished cocoa mix in an airtight jar or container.
  6. Take 3 to 4 tablespoons of your cocoa mix and put it in a mug.
  7. Pour about 1 cup of hot water over the mix in the mug.
  8. Stir it all together until smooth. Make sure there are no lumps. Top with marshmallows or whipped cream if desired.
