Ingredients
- 350 grams raw green mangoes (around 6 small)
- 4 cups water (divided)
- 3/4 cup granulated white sugar
- 1.5 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or as needed)
- 1 teaspoon black salt
- 25-30 mint leaves
Method
- Peel the raw mangoes and then cut them into small pieces.
- Transfer the cut pieces to a pan and add 1 cup water to it. Cook on medium heat till the mangoes pieces are soft, around 10 minutes.
- Remove pan from heat and transfer the softened mango (along with the water in which it was cooked) to a blender. Let it cool down a little.
- Add 3 cups cold water, mint leaves and sugar. Blend to a smooth paste.
- Strain the liquid into another bowl, add cumin powder, black salt and black pepper. Mix till everything is well combined.
- Transfer aam panna to a glass bottle and keep refrigerated.
- To serve, fill 2/3rd to 3/4th of a glass with aam panna mixture, fill remaining with cold water and serve chilled with fresh mint leaves.
