Ingredients
- 600g lean beef mince
- 4 carrots, peeled and cut into small cubes or chunks
- 1 rich beef stock pot
- 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 tbsp tomato purée
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
Method
- You can brown the mince in a frying pan with 1 tablepoon of oil over a high heat, but it’s not essential. If you don’t brown it, cut it up with scissors so it doesn’t clump. Add the mince and all the other ingredients to the slow cooker, season with salt and pepper and add 450ml of boiling water. Cook on high for 3–4 hours or low for 7–8 hours.
- If you want a thick sauce, add 2 tablespoons of cornflour mixed with 2 tablespoons of water, or some gravy granules. I prefer gravy granules or powder. Cook the mince on high for a further 20–30 minutes.
- Serve the savoury mince with some side dishes.
