Ingredients
- 400g beef steak, cubed
- 1 tsp cornflour
- 30 ml reduced-salt soy sauce
- 80 ml water
- 1 tbsp Jamaican jerk seasoning
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp oil
- 3 spring onions, chopped
- 1/2 red pepper, cubed
- 1/2 green pepper, cubed
- 1 red chilli, sliced
- 10 g garlic, crushed
- 10 g ginger, crushed
Method
- Start by slicing your beef steak into thin strips. Pop it into a bowl and coat it with cornflour, soy sauce, water, jerk seasoning, and honey. Give it a good mix—like you're dressing a salad, but way more delicious.
- Heat a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add a little oil, then toss in the spring onions and peppers. Let them sizzle for about 5 minutes until they start to soften but still have some crunch.
- Now, add the garlic, ginger, and chilli. The smell? Incredible.
- Time for the beef. Toss it in, keeping the marinade aside for now. Stir-fry for a few minutes until the beef is browned and smelling amazing.
- Pour in the reserved marinade, stir everything together, and let it cook for a couple more minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove from the heat and serve up hot with steamed rice. Maybe garnish with a bit of fresh coriander if you’re feeling fancy.
