Ingredients

  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 red onion, finely diced
  • 10 g garlic, pressed
  • 30 g tomato puree
  • 500 g 5% fat steak mince
  • 175 ml red wine
  • 20 ml Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp mixed herbs
  • 900 g sweet potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 200 ml beef stock.

Method

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over a medium heat and add the onion and gently fry for a few minutes. Add the garlic and tomato puree and fry for a further minute before adding the mince to the pan and cooking until it has browned.
  2. Add the wine and simmer until it's reduced by about 1/3 in volume.
  3. Add all of the remaining ingredients.
  4. Cover with a lid, reduce to a low simmer and cook for about 60 minutes.
  5. When it's ready, remove the lid and mash with a spoon so everything is combined. Serve.
